Agora Group
Operating Board
The Operating Board will be comprised of a Chair, a Chief Financial Officer, a Legal Advisor and a Secretary, and will be responsible for the overall management of the organization. The Board's main responsibility is the strategic direction of the Agora Group, as well as issues of budgeting, salaries, and other financial issues. They are charged with ensuring that the Agora Group remains a solvent and effective organization. The Executive Director and the Director of Operations have been designated as ex-officio members of the Operating Board.
Board of Governors
The Board of Governors will be made up of leading academics, scholars, members of the business community, and diplomats from around the world. They are responsible for the determination of the character and mission of the organization, as well as providing intellectual guidance to the organization. The Board of Governors will meet annually to review ongoing initiatives and determine future areas of focus for the Agora Group. The Agora Group has already begun recruiting for the Board, and a number of prominent scholars and members of the international community have agreed to sit on it. In order to reflect the continually changing international system, Board appointments will be for a fixed term or 2-4 years in order to ensure that the composition of the Board of Governors reflects as accurately as possible the current issues facing the international community.
Executive Director
The Executive Director is responsible for the operations of the Agora Group. He or she has the responsibility of overseeing the general direction of the Agora Group, in accordance with its governing principals and memoranda as well as the recommendations of the Board of Governors. He or she will be an ex-officio member of the Operating Board and report to them, according to the by-laws of the Agora Group.
Director of Operations
The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall administrational and logistical management of Agora offices as well as ongoing and projected endeavors. He or she is also charged with overseeing issues related to Human Resources, Marketing and Programs. The directors of Public Affairs and Programmes report to the Director of Operations, who in turn reports to the Executive Director and the Operating Board. He or She will also be an ex-officio member of the Operating Board.
Director of Public Affairs
The Director of Public Affairs is responsible for the public face of the organization, specifically liasing with potential donors and generating new avenues for funding, as well as dealing with media and communications.
Director of Programmes
The Director of Programmes is responsible for the development and implementation of Agora Group projects, as well as managing a team of program managers and overseeing all aspects of the programs.
Director of International Affairs
The Director of International Affairs is responsible for the development of international contacts and the enhancement of the reputation of Agora on an international stage. The Director of International Affairs is also charged with the task of seeking new avenues for collaboration and partnership between Agora and international organisations.
Programme Managers
Programme Managers are responsible for the daily management and detail of programs, specifically the workshop series scheduled for 2005-2007. They report directly to the Director of Programmes. Initially, three will be hired, one for each workshop in the series. Future project managers will join the organization as warranted by the activities of the Agora Group
